“No matter whose fault it is for something happening, it is the individual who is affected that is responsible for the repair of their own life. It is also that individual who has the power to change their life for the better. This is not to say that if you are done wrong that the person or entity that has done you wrong doesn’t have an obligation to make it right….but the responsibility to make yourself whole is always on you.” – Hu$$leNomics

I was able to get my hands on this quote from a book called Hu$$leNomics. It’s a book inspired by the artist, Nipsy Hussle. I enjoy this quote and felt the need to share it with you :-)

I recently read an article in “The Advocate” that speaks to this quote perfectly! The story is about a 19 year old, Jermaine Hudson, being wrongly accused for 22 years behind another young man’s (18, at the time) lie.

According to The Advocate, “on the night of March 1, 1999, Hudson’s accuser, then 18, told his father that while riding his bike home from work, he’d been robbed at gunpoint of cash and his St. Christopher medal. The father called the police, who presented the accuser with a photographic lineup a month later. The accuser picked Hudson, who lived in the area.”

This article cannot BEGIN to explain EVERYTHING that Hudson lost. However, it did mention that he had two children prior to going to prison. Hudson had (I believe) a two year old and a 10 month baby. DAMN! Those children are now 24 and 22 years old.

Even though this anonymous accuser’s lack of character was the cause of Jermain Hudson’s pain, hardship, and struggle, neither the accuser’s apology, money, nor anything else can truly help Hudson repair his life. Until or unless Hudson starts the process of self-development, he cannot repair his life. Even though he’s currently free, without true repair he could easily find himself back in prison or worse.

From the Trans-Atlantic slave trade – to the daily mistreatment of people of color today. From how your job unfairly handled you – to the mishandling of your parents. From the wickedness of your haters and enemies – to the selfishness, greed, anger, of your loved ones…the responsibility is on us.

One common emotion that every person can relate to is pain. It’s not a good feeling at all. However, its vital for growth and development. Just being born is painful both to the mother and the child! But how else can we exist?

This is a subject so vast that I could go on and on…..but I won’t :-)

The motive of this newsletter is to hopefully spark the flame that will ultimately inspire you to repair – or continue to maintain – the mind frame that will keep us sane so that we can continue to prosper.

Let’s not allow anything or anyone to have control of our lives :-)

Much Love….Soul
