For those who don't know who this beautiful lady is, this is my cousin, Akilah Davison, who joined our Ancestors on March 19, 2023. This month’s Much Love Soul is dedicated to Akilah.

I’d like to use this platform as a place you can share your favorite picture(s) of Akilah and share stories of special moments or experiences you’ve had with her. You can click Log in / Sign up in the upper right corner of your desktop to log into or create a new MLS account to post your comment below, or feel free to click here from your desktop or cell phone to post it to the Much Love Soul Facebook page. And if you don’t have anything to offer from the above choices, then simply post a friendly comment about a picture or experience posted here that you appreciate.

I'll start.

Left to right: Tulinagwe Muhammad and Akilah Davison

A picture I remember most of Akilah is from a time that she and Tulinagwe visited us in Atlanta for the summer when we were children. We were playing a dress up game where the girls dressed up, sometimes in Aunt Yolanda’s nice clothes, while the boys (Nashid and I) put on our Sunday best, and pictures were taken of us.

One of the pictures taken that day was of Akilah in her nice attire, locked arms with me as though I was her escort for the evening. These are a couple of dress up pictures from that summer, including this one of me in the dapper outfit I had on when I was Akilah’s escort. 😁

Unfortunately, I don’t have that specific picture, but it’s definitely an image and memory that sticks out for me. If anyone has that picture, please post it below, on the Facebook page, or email to Soul567278@yahoo.com.

Two of the best experiences I have of Akilah that demonstrates the type of love she showed me was:

  1. The way she took care of and looked after my daughter. Maybe being the first of our generation to have children gave me some favor in this regard, but Akilah looked after my daughter Asia! Taking the relationship very personal by spending time with her, braiding Asia’s hair similar to the way Akilah and her sisters wore their hair when they were children, and buying her many gifts. Thanks Akilah!

  2. Akilah’s regular visits during my incarceration meant the world to me! Even despite her medical conditions, she showed me relentless support and I cannot ~~ will not forget it.

Love you, Cuz

Much Love,

Soul

Hi all! Late but always on time. I am now at a place, where I am ready to speak about my fondest memory of Akilah. I LOVED this memory from Soul and Auntie Yolanda. I came here to share my most fondest memory of Akilah. Akilah was my older cousin, and though I could go on about how much I will miss her and her impact on me, I want to highlight a memorable moment of knowing Akilah. Ever since I was about 13 years old, Akilah has been inviting me to come visit her in Houston. We finally took a family trip there when I was around 16 or 17 years old, and Akilah showed me around Texas. I…

Of the many pictures I've taken involving Akilah Davison, this is my favorite and Akilah isn't in it. This was taken in Cuba and these two guys were so engulfed in watching her walk by, they didn't realize I was taking their picture.

They were totally captivated by her.
